1. Meet Your Horse – Personalities Matter!


With me, you won’t be guessing which horse will suit you. I’ll match you with the perfect partner:

  • Gigs – the calm, kind senior who’s ideal for beginners
  • Leo – the cheeky, affectionate carrot lover
  • Manny - the young fella
  • Cruz – the gentle giant who melts hearts

Every horse has their quirks and charm — and knowing their personality makes your photoshoot with a horse feel fun and stress-free.

2. Don’t Touch the Tack — Let us Handle It


During your Sydney horse photoshoot, the tack (bridle, halter, lead rope, etc.) is my assistant job.

Why?

Because even the most chilled horse can get confused or uncomfortable if tack is moved incorrectly.

So please, leave the adjusting, unclipping, fixing and tightening to us. You just get to look fabulous. (Yes, you will be still able to lead the horses)

3. The Great Treat Rule (aka: Don’t Lose Your Fingers)


Treats are fun — and the boys love them!

But here’s the safe way to do it:

  • Keep your fingers flat
  • Hold the carrot from the end
  • Never leave feed behind your back (Leo will absolutely steal it)

This keeps everyone happy… and everyone’s fingers intact.

4. Grooming & Prep — The Horse Will Arrive Ready


My assistant prepares the horse for you.

So you don’t need to:

  • brush
  • bathe
  • braid
  • shine
  • fix the mane
  • clean tack

Unless you specifically want to.

5. Where to Stand — I’ll Position You Safely


During your photoshoot, I’ll guide you exactly where to stand for safety and the best photos.

General rules:

  • Don’t walk directly behind the horse
  • Don’t go under the neck
  • Keep your feet clear of hooves
  • Move calmly and confidently
  • Always approach at an angle, never straight from behind

I promise — you don’t have to remember anything. I’ll guide you the entire time.

6. Kids + Horses = Sweet Moments… With Guidance


Kids look adorable in a family horse photoshoot, but safety comes first.

If you’re bringing children:

  • They must always stand with an adult
  • No running or sudden moves
  • No hiding behind the horse
  • No yelling, clapping, or flapping toys
  • They can only approach when I say it’s safe


Gigs is perfect for younger kids.

Leo and Cruz are best for confident children or older kids.

Here’s your simple safety cheat sheet:

  • Follow handler (or photographer) instructions
  • Move calmly, no surprises
