Cruz is the newest addition to our little photoshoot family, living in beautiful Maraylya right next to the stunning Scheyville National Park. He hasn’t had his first horse photoshoot in Sydney yet — we’ve only just started working together — but my family is already falling in love with him.


He’s lived at his current home since he was just 9 months old, and now at 8 years old he has grown into a massive Shire gelding (the largest horse breed in the world!)… yet somehow he is the gentlest, sweetest giant I’ve ever met. Soft eyes, calm nature, and a heart of pure gold.

Who Is Cruz Perfect For? – The Go-To Horse for Your Sydney Photoshoot


Cruz may be the gentlest soul on the property, but he is still a very big boy — Shires are the largest horse breed, after all! Even though he’s wonderfully slow, calm, and absolutely lovely with my 6-year-old daughter, kids need to know how to behave around horses to safely enjoy a photoshoot with Cruz. His size alone means confidence is key.


I highly recommend Cruz for anyone who isn’t intimidated by a large horse and wants to meet this stunning Shire up close. He’s perfect for couples photoshoots with a horse, individual portraits, and family photoshoots with older kids.
