Fifteen Years of Loyalty and Love, Celebrating Honey in a Special Photoshoot
As a Sydney dog friendly photographer, some of the most meaningful moments I get to capture are the ones that celebrate the deep bond between humans, couples, families and their ageing dogs. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Honey, a 15-year-old Border Collie, alongside her loving humans in a serene countryside setting near Oakville and Cattai.
Honey may be deaf and battling age-related health issues—including seizures—but her spirit remains unshaken. Her fur is still unbelievably soft, and her eyes still shine with puppy-like joy. This dog photography session wasn’t just about capturing pretty pictures—it was about preserving memories of a beloved dog who has shared countless joyful years with her family.
Golden Years with Honey: A Pet Photography Story near Oakville and Cattai
Jana first reached out to me through Instagram to arrange a pet photography session for Honey with her and her partner. Since I’m not always quick on socials (guilty!), she waited patiently for my reply—something I truly appreciate. Once we connected, we carefully planned the session to prioritise Honey’s comfort. We chose a peaceful property near the Oakville and Cattai area— it was perfect for an early morning dog photoshoot with space to roam and soft grass to lie in.
During most couples photography sessions in Sydney where dogs attending too, I use squeaky toys to get the dogs’ attention. But I learned that Honey's been deaf for quite a while. It didn’t stop her from enjoying the experience one bit! She soaked in all the love, the extra treats, and especially the cuddles with her humans on the lovely morning grass.
