An In-Home Dog Portrait Session in The Gables — Meet Tobias the Black Poodle
Some dogs just know how to work a camera. Tobias is one of them.
Tobias is a gorgeous black poodle who lives with his owner in The Gables — one of the newer suburbs in The Hills Shire, right next to Box Hill. When his owner reached out about an in-home portrait session, I said yes straight away. There's something really special about photographing a dog in their own space. They're relaxed, they're themselves, and you get to see their real personality come out.
We kept the session simple. Just the two of them, Tobias and the person who loves him most, against a clean wall, letting their bond do all the talking.
And it really did. Between the stolen kisses, the cuddles, and the very serious "please give me a treat" stare, we got some beautiful portraits that genuinely capture who Tobias is.

It's a great option if your dog is more relaxed at home than in public, if they're easily startled by new environments, or if you just want something that feels personal and intimate rather than a big outdoor shoot.

Yes! I'm based in Rouse Hill, so The Gables and Box Hill are right in my backyard. No travel surcharge for most addresses in The Hills District — just reach out and we can confirm.
Can I be in the photos with my dog?
Absolutely — and I'd encourage it. Some of my favourite pet portraits are actually owner-and-dog portraits, like Tobias and his owner. That bond between a person and their dog is worth capturing.
What should I do to prepare for an in-home dog photography session?
Pick up any clutter you'd rather not see in the background, have treats ready (lots of them), and try to time the session when your dog is naturally calm — not just after a big meal or right when they want a walk. I'll guide you through everything on the day.
Do you photograph other pets besides dogs?
Primarily dogs, but feel free to ask. If you've got a cat, a rabbit, or something else you love, get in touch and we can talk about whether it's a good fit.
How long does a pet portrait session take?
Most in-home sessions are my short sessions ~30 minutes. But it depends on the package you choose.
