What to wear for my outdoor Family Photo session | Tips from a Sydney based Family photographer

1. Coordinate:

Opt for coordinating colours and styles that complement each other. Choose a colour palette with 2-4 complementary colours and distribute them among your family members. You can check with me what are the complementary colours or see a generator for it HERE 

My favourites are light and natural colours. Choosing light, plain outfits with natural colours for a photoshoot creates a timeless and harmonious look that allows the focus to remain on your family's expressions and connection, ensuring your photos stand the test of time.





2. EMBRACE NEUTRALS AND SOFT TONES:

As I said before I love neutral colours. It is also because neutral colours like whites, creams, grays, and soft pastels work wonderfully for outdoor shoots. They blend seamlessly with natural surroundings and draw attention to your family's faces, expressions, and interactions.

3. Add a Pop of Color:

While neutrals are the base, don't be afraid to introduce a pop of colour through accessories or clothing items. A vibrant scarf, a colourful bowtie can inject personality and visual interest into your photos.

The season in Sydney and location of your outdoor shoot can influence your clothing choices. Light and breathable fabrics are ideal for summer sessions, while cozy sweaters and layers work well for fall and winter. Always check the weather forecast beforehand.

This might be the most important while taking family photos with my around the beautiful locations of Sydney.
