1. Dog-friendly Park photoshoot locations in Sydney
Parks are one of my favourites when it comes to family photoshoot with dogs. There is enough space for everyone, we can run around, there is lots of different backgrounds we can use. Trees, bushes and sometimes rivers too. Here are few of my favourites.
- Parramatta Park and Parramatta Lake: Different locations but in the same district of Sydney. Both places are stunning to take photos at. Beautiful tress, large grass areas.
- Centennial Parklands: Centennial Parklands has the best spots for any photography. Its a dram to discover it with families. However there is a need for a permit at this park for any photography session. The permit prices are available at their website. (Permits are not covered in your photography sessions)
- Sydney Park: There is a nice playground and it is a doggy heaven. There are nice river sides, trees, greenery. Great walk with the family with stopping by at nice spots.
- Fagan Park: Fagan Park, photogenic buildings, bridges, river, little forest, beautiful flowers. Everything you need for a nice family photoshoot with your dog. There is a playground too to give some space for the kids after the photoshoot.
- Cooper Park: In the beautiful greenery there is a creek running through the centre of the park. Amazing trees, plants and rocks makes the photos even more beautiful. Dogs are allowed and there is even off-leash area. Amazing spot for family photoshoot with dogs.
- Balls Head Reserve: A bushland loaded with industrial relics and views to Sydney.
- Wilksch Walk: Love this walk with the creek, the rocks with moss the amazing view to the View to historic Suspension Bridge.
There are many other parks where dogs are allowed. If your area is not listed, that doesn't mean there aren't amazing spots to take photos with your dog. Lots of great dog-friendly parks in Sydney that are perfect for your family photoshoot.
2. Dog-friendly Beach photoshoot locations in Sydney
A beach photoshoot effortlessly combines the love shared between family members with the natural beauty of sun, sand, and sea. If you are spending lots of time on the beach, it is an amazing spot to create those memories. Here are few of my favourites.
- Clifton Gardens Beach: This spot is one of my favourites. I spend time here with my family even when it is not about dog-friendly photoshoots. Dogs are allowed on the beach and there is an amazing large green field with lovely trees in the background.
- Rose Bay Dog Beach: Situated in the Eastern Suburbs, Rose Bay Dog Beach offers stunning views and off-leash play areas for dogs, it can be a nice spot for a beach photoshoot with your four legged friend.
- Curl Curl Beach (North End): The northern section of Curl Curl Beach has an dog-friendly area which is great when you'd like to have the ocean as the background of your photos.
- Rowland Reserve: The Bayview beach dog park is lovely especially during the late afternoon golden hours. There is a nice walk in the near forest, nice green area too.
- Clontarf Beach: Beautiful place with lovely afternoon light! Nice spot for the family to get great backdrop for their perfect family photos with a doggy.
There are many other beaches that allow dogs, but I find these with pretty backdrops which make them perfect for family photoshoot with your dog.
3. Urban Dog-friendly photoshoot locations in Sydney
There are plenty of urban locations in Sydney which are dog-friendly, but careful with these as they can get busy. These locations are best to take photos during early morning golden hour when the city still sleeps but the sun is nice and low for that beautiful golden light.
City locations are mainly recommended to couples with dogs or families with teenage or older children.
- Observatory Park: Even though it is a park, I keep it at the "Urban" list since you've got an amazing view to the city.
- Lavender Bay and Milsons Point Walk: It can get very busy but it has stunning views. It is a better option for small families or couples.
- The Rocks: Walking in the city and getting the best views, amazing spots to stop and take photos with the amazing Harbour Bridge and the Opera in the background.
- Pyrmont Bridge and walk to Darling Harbour: A bit of a different view to the city but still amazing backdrops with the tall buildings and the water views.
